
TONY BARCA SIGNS WITH J-BIRD RECORDS
Long Island Artist signs with WWW record label; Release Titled " MAKANA" available now.
J-Bird Records, the industry's "first World Wide Web recording label", is pleased to announce the signing of Long Islands own Tony Barca. His new release "MAKANA" featuring The Cyclone Rangers and The Uptown Horns, is now available worldwide via the WWW at www.j-birdrecords.com, local retail outlets and at the group's live performances. Tony Barca joins the J-Bird roster, which includes Billy Squier, The Guess Who, Lovechild (featuring Jenn Wertz formerly of Rusted Root), Jazz Hall of Fame guitarist Jimmy Stewart, well-known hit maker Andrew Gold, the world famous Harlem Gospel Choir and the Butch Vig-produced The And.
Tony Barca has been entertaining crowds throughout the tri-state area for the past 20 years and has won numerous awards in the American Song Festival, The Music City Song Festival and The Billboard Song Contest. After playing in, and heading up numerous bands Tony joined The Cyclone Rangers whose styles range from Rock and Roll/R&B to Country and original Rock. They have opened for such artists as Leon Russell, Rick Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Jon Anderson, Dickey Betts, Wilson Pickett, Dr. John, Pure Prairie League, and Asleep at the Wheel, to name a few. The Cyclone Rangers also toured the nation as a Rockabilly Band with Minnie Pearl, Steve Young, The Nashville Bluegrass Band and Vernon Oxford, as members of "The Grand Old Country Music Show". This tour included a performance at The Ryman Auditorium, the home of the "Grand Ole Opry".
The CD features original music in the genres of Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, and Ballads. Tony Barca performs on lead vocals and guitar and is backed by some of New York's finest musicians including Lincoln Schleifer and Denny McDermott (New York Rock & Soul Revue), Bob Mayo (Peter Frampton, Hall & Oates), The Uptown Horns (Rolling Stones & Ray Charles) and various other talents.
