
John Putnam
John Putnam, a native New Yorker, has been playing guitar for years, captivating listeners and l ive audiences over and over again. Johns unique guitar talent has kept him busy working with some of the most popular names in the music world.
John's credits include performing with such talented and well-known artists as Southside Johnny, Cher, Melissa Etheridge, Madonna, Bernard Purdie, Melissa Manchester and Darlene Love. He was an integral player in the orchestra for Pete Townsend's Broadway Production of the Who's "Tommy". John has shared the road and the studio with ....
John is the original guitarist of the Cyclone Rangers 1980-84. Above and beyond all his credits he remains one of the stellar guitarists of his time. His outstanding slide guitar and dobro playing on MAKANA will stand along side the best of them.
Maura McCabe
Maura is an active performer in the NY tri-state area with many popular bands. She is comfortable in all genres of music from bluegrass to R&B, jazz and rock & roll. Maura has lent her talents to the projects of New York's best and most versatile musicians; both in the studio and in live performances. As a featured vocalist on the CD release " Tom Hanway & Blue Horizon ", Maura's performance was called "captivating and enjoyable" with "depth of powerful, evocative vocals" as quoted by Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine. She has recorded her original works with well respected NY based musicians Lincoln Schleifer and Larry Campbell as co- producers.
Maura and Tony met for the first time during the recording of "MAKANA" and were an instant blend vocally. Maura sings a duet with Tony ( " Baby, I love you") on "MAKANA". She has since been a welcome addition to the The Cyclone Rangers.
Larry Ketchell
Larry is a Long Island based keyboardist who has always been on the cutting edge of his instrument. He was the keyboard player for The Little Wilson Band, a local R&B powerhouse for about 15 years until thier break-up. He also has played with The Willie Steel Band. He now is a main stay with The Cyclone Rangers.
His uncanny ability on piano and his pure mastery of The Hammond Organ have won him the repsect of all who played on MAKANA. Tony and Larry have known each other for about 10 years and have shared the stage in many musical situations including " The Paper Bag", a 40 piece rock orchestra and now The Cyclone Rangers. His musical depth and playing ablity are a welcome addition to the Ranger line up.
Catherine
Russell
Catherine has been a mainstay in the NY music scene for many years. Her spectacular vocal abilities keep her very busy in her career. Catherine also has many credits including stage, recording and television appearances. She has toured with Paul Simon, Edie Brikell, Steely Dan, Cyndi Lauper, Elvis Costello and Chaka Khan to name just a few. Catherine's recording credits include Donald Fagan, Al Kooper, Roseanne Cash, Madonna, Buster Poindexter among many.
She has appeared on The David Letterman Show, The Tonight Show, Saturday Night Live and Conan O'Brian . Catherine has also appeared on Broadway in the production of " Big River " as well as several off- Broadway and regional productions, (" Over the Rainbow", "212" and "Necropolis").
Tony and Catherine first met when she joined up with the Cyclone Rangers for a string of dates in 1992. They became instant friends and a fine musical match. Catherine teamed up again with Tony and others to bring her special flair and talent to "MAKANA".
Danny Louis
Danny is a New York based keyboardist who has done extensive touring
and recording with Warren Haynes, Joe Cocker, UB 40, Curtis Steigers, Tracy
Chapman and many more. He has written many jingles as well as some major movie
scores including the sound track of " The Candyman II" for Phillip Glass.
Danny and Tony met in 1997 through producer Lincoln Schleifer to join in on the
"MAKANA Marathon Session" at DK USA Studios in NYC. His perfomance proved him
to be one of the most talented and versatile keyboard players around. Danny's
wonderful ears and his natural instinct helped point the direction "MAKANA"
took. Danny has earned himself, through his talent and love of playing, to be
one of the busiest and most sought after keyboard players in the business
today.
Britt Savage
Britt
Savage sings from a place somewhere
between Alan Jackson and Mahalia Jackson. Her brand of Country Soul is a sound
all her own. She can be heard playing clubs with her own band or singing background
vocals for other artists around town. Britt sang background vocals for Garth
Brooks on his NBC Christmas Special and backed him up on the GRAMMYs with a
Gospel Choir. As a session singer, Britt has sung jingles for Sprite, L'oreal,
Woolite and Hawaiian Punch and has recorded with artists as diverse as Robert
Cray and RuPaul.
I met
Britt through producer Jon Gordon. I was blown away by the performances she
gave on this CD. Her talents as a vocalist will carry her very far in this
business
Lisa
Lowell
Lisa
Lowell is a journeywoman vocalist, songwriter, and rock n roll
back-up singer/ arranger who lives with her wildcat Skeeter on New
Yorks upper West Side. She grew up jamming with other New Jersey natives
Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny. She has been background vocalist on
albums by Springsteen and Buster Poindexter and many others. She has also been
the backup vocalist of choice for superstars like Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi,
Stevie Wonder, Buster Poindexter, and dozens of others. I have had the pleasure
of knowing this talented and versitile vocalist since the days City Limits in
the early 80's. Her contributions to this CD will long be remembered by me and
all involved inthe production of this CD. Lisa is currently working on her Long
Awaited debut alblum produced by Don Dixon. The sessions are being recorded
in New York City on the Gaff Music Label. Lisa will always remain one of my
favorite singers and I wish her all the best on her upcoming CD. For more info

Soozie
Tyrell..From street musician, bar band, to the recording studio and
concert venues around the world with some of today's greatest musicians. Her
violin and vocal talents are featured prominently on Bruce Springsteen's 1995
Grammy winning album, "The Ghost of Tom Joad." She has previously recorded with
Springsteen on the "Lucky Town" album, and can be heard on his "Greatest Hits"
album as well as "Tracks." She has also performed with Springsteen live at Madison
Square Garden, The Meadowlands, Ryman Auditorium and other large venues around
the world.
Soozie's other credits include performances with Patti Scialfa's "Rumble
Doll" album; Carole King's album "City Lights"; Judy Collins' 1993 collection
of Bob Dylan songs; Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes' "Why is Love Such
a Sacrifice"; and Buster Poindexter's eponymous debut album, "Buster Goes Berserk,"
"Buster's Happy Hour," as well as the David Johansen anthology 'From Pumps to
Pompadours." She can be heard singing on the soundtrack of the movie "The Dream
Team," starring Michael Keaton and Peter Boyle.
Soozie's television appearances include Saturday Night Live's 1987 &
1988 seasons, The Tonight Show, Late Show with David Letterman, The Smothers
Brothers, Jim Hensen's Muppet Hour, "Showtime" Special-Live From the Roxy, and
more. Tyrell has performed live with Elvis Costello. She was under contract
with Mick Jagger for his "Primitive Cool" world tour.
Soozie and Tony go all the way back to the Street Singer days and the "City
Limits" with High in the Saddle. Her contributions to MAKANA will be long remembered
by all who hear her sing. Soozie has performed on occassion with the Cyclone
Rangers and now has her own CD

Charlie Giordano
Brooklyn, New York resident Charlie Giordano is
one of the new generation of accordionists. He has added his talents to
recordings by Bruce Springsteen, k.d. lang, Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar, Suzanne
Vega, Buster Poindexter, Laurie Anderson...to name a few. He has played on film
soundtracks including "Ed Wood", Disney's "Huck and Tom" and Tim Robbins' "The
Cradle Will Rock" scheduled for release summer of '99. He is also a busy jingle
musician in NYC having played on over one hundred commercials. After a two year
run in the Broadway orchestra of "Victor Victoria", the star Julie Andrews
thanked Charlie for being "such an inspiration these past two years".
Marcus Rojas
Marcus Rojas is considered one of the best all-around tuba players in the world today. He has developed a style of playing that brings a new sense of flexibility and timbre to the tuba while expanding its role in both solo and ensemble settings. His credits include Jazz Composers Collective, The Metropolitan Opera, The American Ballet Theatre, American Symphony Orchestra, Lionel Hampton, David Byrneand Dr. John just to name a few. It was very exciting working with a live tuba player and his addition to Bye Bye Baby made the difference in the song.
Bob Mayo

from Mr. Frampton. Bob has toured and recorded with Peter Frampton, Aerosmith,
Foreigner, Robert Plant, Dan Fogelberg, and Hall and Oates. In between tours
